Amboise Castle Entry
Amboise Castle stands as a medieval treasure in the Loire Valley, with a rich history marked by conspiracies, imprisonments, and clandestine romances. With this skip-the-line ticket, you'll have the chance to wander through the expansive gardens and grand interiors of this vital piece of French heritage.
Within the castle, you can marvel at the Renaissance-inspired decor initiated during the reign of King Louis XII. His successor, Francis I, further fostered the cultural landscape of this era. An intriguing feature of Château d'Amboise is its secret tunnel leading to Château de Clos-Lucé, where the famed artist Leonardo da Vinci spent his final years, invited by Francis I.
The castle's gardens house the chapel of Saint Hubert, a site that holds the tomb of Leonardo da Vinci. Historical accounts suggest that the brilliant artist passed away in the embrace of Francis I, who regarded him as a father figure.
Don't miss the panoramic terraces at Amboise Castle, which offer stunning views over the scenic Loire River.
HistoPad Experience
Your skip-the-line admission also includes an English-language brochure and a HistoPad: a tablet featuring narratives and videos in English. This interactive device allows you to independently explore and uncover the captivating stories behind the history of Amboise Castle.
