Our experience begins promptly at 4 pm, as we gather outside the Court House situated in Sofia's city center, ready to embark on a journey through the city's communist heritage.

We will first transport ourselves to the aftermath of the Second World War. Accompanied by our knowledgeable English-speaking guide, we'll delve into the formation and development of the Bulgarian Communist Party, while discussing the significant roles played by historical figures such as Stalin and Churchill.

As we traverse the streets of Sofia, our path will take us past notable buildings that emerged during the Communist regime. Our guide will shed light on the operations of the secret police and the various strategies employed by the government to exert control over its citizens. We will gain a deeper understanding of what everyday life entailed under Communism in Bulgaria, exploring aspects such as the healthcare system, gender equality, and the lasting impacts of this historical period on contemporary society.

During our tour, we will stop at the former Royal Palace, now home to the National Art Gallery, before continuing to one of the city's most debated sites: the Monument to the Soviet Army. This memorial has served as a focal point for protests and has frequently been subject to political graffiti.

Our exploration will conclude at approximately 7 pm, in front of the memorial dedicated to those who suffered under Communism.
