Corinth Canal Boat Excursion
At your chosen meeting time, we will gather at the designated location to board the vessel that will take us through the historic waters of the Corinth Canal. Are we ready? Let’s set sail!
We will embark on a 1.5-hour voyage on a glass-bottom boat measuring 17 meters (55.77 feet) in length.
As we glide along, we will delve into the fascinating history and significance of this stunning artificial canal that connects the Gulf of Corinth and the Aegean Sea. It stands as one of the key maritime routes in Greece.
Learn intriguing details about this canal, constructed between 1881 and 1893 by Hungarian engineer István Türr, which represents one of the most significant engineering achievements in history.
Our journey will culminate with our return to the starting point.
Extended 4-Hour Cruise
For those wishing to expand the exploration of the Corinth Canal, we recommend opting for the 4-hour experience. Following the initial itinerary, we will continue towards the Saronic Gulf, noted for its tranquil waters and rich history. We will pass by the port of Kenchrea, the center of ancient Corinth, traditionally believed to be the arrival point of Saint Paul for his missions in Greece.
Next, the journey takes us by the legendary Baths of Helen of Troy, transporting you to the tales of Menelaus, Paris, and the Trojan War. After this historical adventure, we will approach Siderona Beach, where you can enjoy a refreshing swim in its clear turquoise waters. Snorkeling gear will be available for those who wish to explore the underwater life of the Aegean Sea.
Following the swim, a buffet lunch awaits on board, complete with wine, soft drinks, and water to rejuvenate you. With newfound energy, we will resume our voyage through the Corinth Canal, heading back to our original departure point.
After 4 hours, we will dock and conclude our boat excursion at the meeting location.
