Day Trip to Charles Town
Your adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel around 10 am, as we depart from the vibrant capital of Jamaica, heading northwards across the island.
In approximately an hour and a half, we will arrive at Charles Town, a region that is home to one of Jamaica’s prominent Maroon communities. Here, you will have the opportunity to visit the Maroon Museum, where you can learn about the community's historical journey and their struggle for freedom.
The Maroons consist of individuals who were initially brought to Jamaica as enslaved Africans in the 18th century. They played a significant role in the quest for Jamaican independence and today identify as self-governing communities of former runaway slaves.
While wandering through Charles Town, you will witness local residents showcasing traditional music and dance performances; truly an unparalleled experience!
Following our exploration, we will travel to Buff Bay River, where you can enjoy a refreshing swim, and subsequently, we’ll visit a nearby restaurant to savor some delicious local dishes (lunch is not included).
After your meal, we’ll head back to Kingston, returning you to your hotel around 3 pm.
