Oslo Fjord Island-Hopping Day Trip
Description
Embark on an excursion to Lindøya and Hovedøya islands as we depart from Oslo to uncover two destinations that radiate distinctive allure, perfect for nature enthusiasts and sea lovers.
Trip Overview
At the scheduled time, we will gather at the Oslo port to board a ferry that will navigate us through the breathtaking Oslo Fjord, unveiling the beauty of the islands of Lindøya and Hovedøya. Let’s set sail!
Our journey will commence on Hovedøya, a historic site renowned for its verdant landscapes and ancient ruins. You will have the chance to explore the remarkable remnants of an abbey dating back nearly 1,000 years, as well as the 19th-century fortifications. Get ready to immerse yourself in the tales that surround these historical treasures, providing a deeper understanding of Norwegian heritage.
Next, we will proceed to Lindøya, famous for its approximately 300 charming wooden cabins, vibrantly painted and connected by flower-laden trails. This island becomes a beloved retreat among locals in the summer, offering an ideal environment to relax and unwind.
Here, we’ll pause to allow you to savor lunch while soaking in the breathtaking natural scenery at your leisure. Be sure to capture the beauty with your camera!
After exploring these picturesque islands close to Oslo, we will return to our starting point, with an estimated time of arrival between 3.5 and 4.5 hours later.
