Diving in Sunken Boats in Baru

Join this adventure and embrace your inner explorer as you investigate the wreckage of ships beneath the waters of the Baru peninsula. It's an unforgettable journey!

Diving Overview

At the scheduled time, we will collect you from your accommodation in Bocagrande or at a predetermined meeting point in Cartagena de Indias. Following this, we will embark on an hour-long minibus ride towards the Baru peninsula.

Upon arrival, you will board a boat for a scenic sail across the Caribbean Sea  towards the Los Velázques aquatic park.

If you're new to diving, there's no need to be concerned. Prior to the initial dive, we will provide a concise lesson and give you the opportunity to practice essential techniques in gentle waters. Then, we will set out to locate the AC Quindio ship, a vessel deliberately sunk by the Colombian navy in 2005.

Once equipped, we will submerge to investigate the remains of the ship. You will have the chance to swim through its structure and examine various sections. When our countdown reaches the designated time, we'll ascend to the surface. Generally, each dive will last around 30 minutes.

After your dive experience, enjoy 3 hours of leisure time. We will conclude the trip by returning you to your hotel in Cartagena, a total of approximately 9 hours of activities.

Available Options

• Single dive + Lunch: After completing one 30-minute dive, enjoy a satisfying lunch featuring fresh fish, chicken, or a vegetarian choice. Following the meal, you will have free time to relax at the beach club in Baru—an excellent opportunity to unwind!
• 2 dives + Lunch: This is the most comprehensive choice! You will experience 2, 30-minute dives and enjoy lunch at the beach club, followed by time to relax at your leisure.

Certified Divers

If you hold an international diving certification, please remember to bring it along on the day of the activity. Those without a certification will remain at the surface and will not dive down to the wreck site.

Children between the ages of 3 and 12 are required to have a PADI certification. Otherwise, they will participate in a simpler diving experience.

Pick-Up Details

This experience includes pick-up from accommodations located in Bocagrande. If your stay is in a different part of Cartagena de Indias, kindly meet us at the Torre del Reloj monument  at the scheduled time.
