Embark on a day trip to Mount Etna, the tallest active volcano in Europe, where extraordinary landscapes, volcanic craters, and breathtaking vistas await your discovery!
Tour Overview
We'll commence our journey at Piazza Pantheon in Syracuse, meeting at the scheduled time to set off towards Mount Etna. During the journey, approximately 1.5 hours in duration, we will pause at several scenic viewpoints that offer stunning panoramas of the region—don't forget your camera!
Our adventure will take us to an elevation of 2,000 meters (6,561 feet), where the exploration of this magnificent volcano begins. Here, you will discover the intriguing history of Etna, its natural environment, and the impact of recent eruptions. Additionally, we will visit extinct craters, highlighting the remarkable power of nature.
From this location, we will embark on a guided hike through the trails of Etna Park. Alternatively, should you prefer, there is an option to book a tour led by a seasoned mountaineer with special transport to the crater area at the summit, reaching 3,000 meters (9,842 feet) above sea level.
After our hike, you will have some leisure time for lunch. Following approximately 3 hours of exploration on Etna, we will visit a lava cave. Equipped with helmets and torches, you will venture inside these volcanic formations for an encounter that promises to be both intriguing and memorable!
Before we conclude our trip back to Syracuse, we will make one final stop at a local farm. Here, you will have the opportunity to savor a selection of honey, wine, oil, and various regional specialties.
In conclusion, we will return to Syracuse and part ways at the original meeting point after an enriching 8-hour experience.

Important information
On the day of the activity, you should arrive at Piazza Pantheon in Syracuse. You can see the exact location at the following Google Maps link. Please be sure to arrive at least 10 minutes before the indicated time.
Additionally, we advise you to wear trainers, a cap, and sunglasses.
Please note that the temperature on Etna can be 10-15°C lower than at sea level.
