Strolling through the quaint pathways of the village, you can also visit the Markellos Tower, which functioned as a governmental building between 1826 and 1827.
Make sure to utilize your time in Aegina to explore the temple of Afaya, dating back to the period between 500 and 490 BC, or the temple of Apollo. This temple is situated on a hill known as "Kolona," indicative of its archaeological significance. Scholars believe it originally boasted 11 columns on the sides, with 6 at each end. Attractions in Athens
A visit to Athens would be incomplete without experiencing the iconic Acropolis, a hallmark of Classical Greece. Within this historical site, you will encounter the Parthenon, the Erechtheion along with its caryatids, and the ancient Theatre of Dionysus, which dates back to the 5th century BC.
Additionally, we recommend exploring the neighborhood of Plaka, often referred to as "the neighborhood of the gods". Its winding cobbled streets, vibrant houses, and traditional taverns evoke a sense of nostalgia. An intriguing fact: remnants of ancient Athens lie beneath the streets of this area.
