This excursion departs from Bergen and features a ride on the Flåm Railway, a scenic cruise on the Nærøyfjord, and a visit to the historic Viking village of Njardarheimr. Flåm Railway, Viking Heritage, and Nærøyfjord Cruise

Our adventure commences at Strandkaien 16, initiating an extraordinary journey through the highlights of the Norwegian fjords in a single day. Get ready to travel through slender valleys, vivid waters, and steep inclines, as we delve into a stunning World Heritage Site!

We'll first head towards Vossevangen. From there, a bus will take us to Gudvangen, located at the end of the enchanting Nærøyfjord—known as the Fjord of Dreams. This charming Viking heritage village is next on our agenda.

Once we arrive in Gudvangen, prepare to step back in time with a 30-minute guided experience of the Viking village of Njardarheimr. Here, immerse yourself in the captivating history of the Viking Age in Norway and gain insights into the daily lives of its former inhabitants.

The highlight of the day awaits as we embark on the eagerly anticipated cruise! Enjoy a tranquil 2-hour boat ride across the Nærøyfjord, recognized as one of the narrowest fjords globally.

Sailing through mountains that tower over 1,700 meters (5,577 feet), marvel at the numerous waterfalls tumbling down the cliffs, and spot quaint villages with traditional wooden homes scattered across the scenery. This awe-inspiring panorama is protected by UNESCO and is truly beyond description.

After the cruise, we will dock in Flåm and allow you between 30 to 55 minutes, depending on the season, to enjoy lunch and explore further. Consider a visit to the Railway Museum or a leisurely walk along the harbor before continuing with our Norwegian Fjords expedition.

Next, we will board the remarkable Flåm train, celebrated as one of the most scenic railway experiences in the world. During this 50-minute journey, soak in the breathtaking landscapes of the Norwegian mountains. A stop at the Kjosfossen waterfall allows for a memorable photo opportunity!

Our itinerary will conclude at Myrdal Station, where we will transfer to a local train bound for Bergen. After a comprehensive 10.5-hour journey, we’ll return to our starting point.

In the summer months, the bus route from Vossevangen to Gudvangen will also include a drive along the Stalheimskleiva. This 1.5-kilometer (0.93 miles) stretch is renowned for its breathtaking views of the Nærøy Valley and offers stunning panoramic viewpoints.
