At this lively market, you'll discover some of the favored ingredients that define local dishes, with a special emphasis on the importance of fish. Observe the various stalls showcasing the fresh catches such as red porgy, sea bass, and lobster sourced from both the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. Here, you’ll sample two different types of ceviche.
With this delightful tasting experience, we’ll proceed to the Mercado de San Felipe Neri, an undiscovered treasure where you can savor natural juices and traditional desserts, including a hearty sancocho that promises to delight the most discerning palates!
Next, we will roam the Avenida Central, which serves as the cultural nucleus of the city. We’ll step into a local bakery to continue our culinary exploration with the traditional mamallena, a dessert made using bread, milk, sugar, cinnamon, and raisins.
As our journey continues, we’ll visit El Chorrillo, where you can relish torrejitas de bacalao, coconut rice paired with pickled fish, along with a delicious seafood stew. This is sure to be a treat for your taste buds!
