Your adventure begins at the scheduled time at the Church of São Gonçalo , setting the stage for our guided exploration of Amarante. As we traverse the city, the intriguing history of this Portuguese gem will come to life.
Alongside the picturesque Tâmega River lies the remarkable Monastery of São Gonçalo, making Amarante a treasure trove of culture and historical significance.
During our journey, we will enter the São Gonçalo Church and navigate through the charming streets and alleys of Amarante. There, we will uncover key monuments alongside the city’s rich tapestry of legends and tales. You will learn about prominent individuals who have left indelible marks on the area, including Antonio do Lago Cerqueira and Amadeo de Souza Cardoso.
To cap off our 2-hour guided experience, we'll indulge in delightful local desserts paired with a comforting tea or coffee - a perfect ending to a memorable tour!
