Our guided exploration of Biarritz commences promptly at the main entrance of the Casino Barrière, where we are greeted by breathtaking panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Adjacent to this opulent venue, we’ll unveil the reasons behind Biarritz’s reputation as one of the top exclusive seaside locations in Aquitaine. We will immerse ourselves in fascinating anecdotes that highlight the Belle Époque, a transformative era spanning from 1871 to 1914, leading into the vibrant times of the “Roaring Twenties.”

As we find ourselves at the base of the casino, we’ll visit the renowned Great Beach of Biarritz, a hotspot cherished by surfers. Strolling along the promenade, we will delve into the 17th and 18th centuries, a time marked by thrilling tales of piracy along these shores.

At one side of the beach, we will pause to admire one of the city’s architectural gems: the Hôtel du Palais. Here, we will reflect on the historical union of Eugénie de Montijo and Napoleon III, who were instrumental in establishing this prestigious palace-hotel.
