We begin our guided journey at the scheduled time near the Tourist Office and Cristos Museum, setting the stage for an insightful experience of the landmarks that define this Alentejo village.
Just a brief walk from our meeting point, you'll encounter the Convent of Santo Antonio, a remarkable 17th-century structure that showcases the characteristic Alentejo style highlighted by its elegant blue and white façade. This convent houses a prominent altar from its era and serves as an introduction to our exploration.
Next, we will proceed past the Our Lady of Orada church, dating back to the fifteenth century, followed by the baroque Our Lady of Grace church, which was constructed between the sixteenth and eighteenth centuries.
We will then take a moment to appreciate the neoclassical altar in the church of La Misericordia. This exceptional temple is linked to a hospital adorned with beautiful tiles, and we will delve into the fascinating story behind their architectural connection.
