Explore some of the most extraordinary corners of the Azores on a hiking tour of the island of Flores. Viewpoints, cliffs, hidden waterfalls and many surprises await!
Tour Options
At the time of booking, you'll have the choice between 4 different hiking routes. All have a duration of 4 hours, start at the indicated time, and include pickup from Rua da Esperança 14A, minibus transportation, and an English-speaking guide.
Four Lakes
This route features an 8-kilometer walk that begins between the Caldeira Negra and Comprida lagoons. You'll also see the Seca and Branca lagoons from the viewpoints. The path includes species such as camellias, lilies, prickly pears, and oleanders and ends in Fajã Grande and Poço de Bacalhau, where a swim is possible.
Lajedo & Poço Ribeira do Ferreiro
This route starts in the village of Lajedo next to the parish church. The hike covers 7.8 kilometers through green meadows. Your guide will share facts about the RMS Slavonia shipwreck. You'll also visit Poço Ribeira do Ferreiro, known for its waterfalls among the rocks.
Ponta Ruiva & Ponta Delgada
This hike begins from Ponta Ruiva along the coastline for 8.5 kilometers, offering views of steep cliffs and the island of Corvo. Before reaching Ponta Delgada, you'll see the Chapel of São João Baptista.
Ponta Ruiva & Santa Cruz de las Flores
Starting from Ponta Ruiva, this 8-kilometer route leads to Alagoa, showcasing rock formations and various crop fields, concluding at Santa Cruz de las Flores, a municipality in the north.

- A light snack (optional)
- Weather-appropriate gear (a raincoat if it's drizzling or sun protection for sunny days)
Special Requirements
- Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times
- If you have any heart or respiratory issues or other medical conditions, please let the local provider know before the activity starts
- Some activities depend on the weather
- The local provider might change or cancel the tour if there's any risk to your safety

- You'll need a basic level of fitness to walk on uneven ground
- This isn't recommended for anyone with serious mobility, heart, or respiratory issues unless cleared by a doctor
