Guatape Horse Riding Tour
Description
Explore the stunning landscapes of Antioquia on this Horse Riding Tour through Guatapé. Experience an adventure that promises to be truly memorable!
Tour Details
We'll convene at the Main Park of San Rafael, situated just in front of the church. Once gathered, we'll board a vehicle that will transport us to the horseback riding destination. Prepare to delve into the beautiful heart of Antioquia!
After a 40-minute journey, we'll gather the necessary equipment and receive a brief orientation to get acquainted with the horses and the trail. Our adventure will begin as we traverse the mountains of Guatapé, following paths set within the subtropical rainforest.
The route will reveal vibrant ferns and hanging mosses along the way. We’ll encounter the Arenal River, marvel at the waterfall from El Tesoro Creek, and discover the Hidden Pool of Guatapé. Amongst the lush greenery, be on the lookout for colorful birds, listen to the flowing water, and, with a bit of luck, catch a glimpse of monkeys darting through the branches.
The journey spans approximately 10 km (6.21 mi) and will not be exclusively on horseback. There will be moments when our equine friends take a break, allowing us to switch between riding and making strategic stops to unwind, swim, and refresh. The waterfalls, tucked away in the foliage, will offer a delightful backdrop of sights and sounds. You’ll truly feel connected to the surrounding nature!
During our adventure, we will pause for an hour at a forested restaurant to savor a typical lunch, featuring cold meats or a tamal, a beloved culinary specialty from Latin America.
With our hunger satisfied, we will conclude the horseback ride and return by vehicle to San Rafael. After 6 hours of exploration and fun, we’ll part ways at our original meeting spot.
