Irati Forest Electric Bike Route

On this electric bike tour of the Irati Forest, you will navigate through one of the most spectacular natural landscapes in the Navarrese Pyrenees effortlessly. Along the way, you will visit notable sites in Roncesvalles, including the Royal Collegiate Church of Santa María and the Silo de Carlomagno.

Activity Details

At the designated time, we will gather next to the Hostal Haizea in Roncesvalles. After a brief introduction, you will receive your bikes and helmets along with instructions to ensure you make the most of the route while taking in all the stunning sights as you cycle through Irati Forest.

Spanning more than 17,000 hectares (42,007 acres), Irati Forest is a sanctuary for nature enthusiasts, rich in biodiversity, and home to deer, wild boar, and birds of prey. It features one of the largest beech and fir forests in Europe. The electric bikes will allow you to traverse the trails and enjoy the spectacular landscapes of the Navarrese Pyrenees with ease.

Throughout the rental period, you will encounter significant points within the Irati Forest, including the picturesque Irabia reservoir, where vibrant green hues reflect beautifully in its waters, creating a memorable scene, as well as the Aribe bridge. Don’t forget your camera!

You will also pass by the Royal Collegiate Church of Santa María, which serves as a welcoming site for pilgrims along the French route of the Camino de Santiago on their journey to Compostela.

To wrap up the adventure, you will get the chance to view the Silo of Charlemagne, a legendary site where, according to folklore, the knights of this emperor were purportedly laid to rest following the Battle of Roncesvalles.

After all these experiences, we will reconvene at the starting point and conclude the tour through the Irati Forest approximately 3 hours later.
