Private Tour of Islamabad
Our journey begins with a convenient pickup from your hotel, leading us to one of the emblematic landmarks of the capital. The Faisal Mosque stands as one of the largest Islamic places of worship globally. Inside this sacred space, we will delve into the fascinating story of its inception, a narrative intertwined with many structures from the 1960s that grace the city.
Adjacent to the mosque, nestled at the base of the Margalla hills, lies the mausoleum of General Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq. To fully appreciate the surrounding natural beauty and the exquisite designs of both the mosque and mausoleum, we will visit the renowned Daman e Kok viewpoint. This breathtaking location provides a panoramic view of the city, showcasing its organized grid layout along with Lake Rawal and the towering edifices of Islamabad's financial district, known as the Blue Area.
Continuing our exploration, we will make our way to Pir Sohawa, situated at an elevation of 5,000 feet amidst the Margalla hills. This natural retreat offers various viewpoints from which to admire a captivating perspective of Islamabad and its surroundings. This fresh viewpoint will enrich our understanding of the modern history of Pakistan, revealing why local officials opted to establish a new megalopolis in the northern region of the country in the mid-20th century.
While in Pir Sohawa, we will enjoy a break at the Monal Restaurant, allowing you time for lunch. Opened in 2006, this venue is nestled on a stunning mountain ledge, providing diners with breathtaking vistas of both urban and natural landscapes below. Savoring the local cuisine in such remarkable surroundings is a truly unforgettable experience!
Following our meal, we will conclude the tour by returning you to your hotel in Islamabad.
