Your adventure begins at 9 am when we pick you up from your hotel in Dakar. We'll board a 4x4 vehicle and set off along Senegal's beautiful Petite Côte. Our initial destination is a Serer village, known for being one of the country's largest ethnic groups.

In the village, you'll immerse yourself in the daily lives of the residents by exploring their homes, educational institutions, and local shops. Additionally, you will visit a bustling market, showcasing traditional handicrafts made by the community.

Continuing the journey, we arrive at Joal, a settlement first encountered by the Portuguese in the 15th century, and notable as the birthplace of Senegal's first president, Leopold Senghor. We will explore the fishing harbor, one of the most significant on the Petite Côte.

Next, we will proceed to the adjacent area of Fadiouth, which is connected to Joal by a scenic wooden bridge. Throughout this segment of the tour, you’ll learn about the historical ties between the two locales. On the other side, Fadiouth is notably situated on a stunning island of clam shells.

During our visit, we will stop at the Cemetery, where the remains of both Christians and Muslims lie in rest. Here, you will gain insights into the significance of a baobab tree, which serves as a tribute to the departed, along with admiring a lovely traditional church.

As we make our way back to Joal, you have the option to paddle through the Atlantic waters in a canoe (additional cost). Ultimately, our excursion concludes as we return to Dakar, dropping you off at your hotel approximately 9 to 10 hours after we set out.
