Tour Options
Begin your day adventure from Durango and delve into the natural wonders of the La Plata Mountains and Canyon aboard a rugged Jeep! You can select from two distinct tour options, each providing a unique opportunity to connect with the striking landscapes of this region. Both options commence and conclude at 360 S Camino Del Rio in Durango, guided by a knowledgeable local expert eager to share insights as you embark on this Rocky Mountain journey. Below are summarized details for each tour:
Scenic Waterfall Tour (2.5 hours)
Join us at the designated time in Durango for a memorable expedition to discover the stunning waterfalls of La Plata Canyon. After a 20-minute drive in our open-air jeep, we will reach the canyon entrance, and the adventure truly begins. Brace yourself for a thrilling ride as we ascend the mountain to uncover three spectacular falls!
We will carefully traverse the twisting paths, gradually ascending deeper into the canyon. At each waterfall, we will step out of the jeep to snap photographs and immerse ourselves in the serene surroundings. Make sure to keep your camera handy!
The highlight of our journey will be visiting a secluded hidden waterfall, located at a remarkable altitude of 3,048 meters (10,000 ft). Here, we will be awed by the 8-meter (25 ft) cascade and explore remnants of historic mining sites, all while enjoying unparalleled viewpoints.
After an exhilarating 2.5-hour adventure, we will return to our original meeting point in Durango, concluding this incredible experience.
