Lake Skadar Day Trip
Description
Embark on an adventure to discover the stunning landscapes of Lake Skadar, wander through the lush forests of Biogradska Gora, and be captivated by the grandeur of the Mora?a Canyon. This journey promises an enriching day immersed in the natural wonders of Montenegro.
Tour Details
Our day begins at Stari Grad 284, where we will gather at the scheduled time. From there, we will travel along the coastal road en route to our first destination, Sveti Stefan, a picturesque spot ideal for capturing the beauty of the Adriatic Sea juxtaposed with its historical architecture.
Next, we will visit the Pastrovacke Strane viewpoint, which offers a sweeping vista that encapsulates the green hills characteristic of Montenegro. Here, we will pause to soak in the serene natural surroundings.
The journey continues to Virpazar, where you will have an hour to enjoy breakfast at a local café. Following this, we'll set out for a scenic boat ride on the enchanting Lake Skadar. For nearly 2 hours, we'll glide over its tranquil waters, passing by islands adorned with rich vegetation and remnants of ancient fortresses. If you're visiting in warmer weather, don't miss the chance to take a refreshing swim in the lake, known as the largest in the Balkans.
As we continue our expedition, we’ll travel along the Princess Ksenija road for about 2 hours and 20 minutes, leading us deep into Montenegro’s verdant interior. Our journey culminates at Biogradska Gora National Park, a pristine area boasting one of Europe’s last untouched forests. You will enjoy 1.5 hours of free time to stroll alongside Biograd Lake, an idyllic spot perfect for a moment of reflection and reconnection with nature.
After exploring, take the opportunity to savor lunch at one of the restaurants by the Tara River. In the afternoon, we will commence our return, winding through the awe-inspiring Mora?a Canyon. This magnificent landscape features towering rock faces and the powerful rush of the river below. As we journey, we will also encounter the Mora?a Monastery, a tranquil refuge adorned with ancient frescoes and the echoes of centuries of faith.
Our enriching experience concludes as we return to the starting point, bringing this incredible day to a close after approximately 13 hours.
