Day Trip to Lauca National Park
Your adventure begins at 7 am when we will collect you from your accommodation in Putre for a journey towards the Lauca National Park. This captivating volcanic area is situated in northern Chile, not far from the Bolivian frontier.
Our first destination will be Lake Chugará, perched at an impressive 14,764 feet (4,500 meters) above sea level. After soaking in the stunning views, we will head into the core of the park to witness the magnificent volcanoes, including the towering peaks of Parinacota, Pomerape, and Guallatiri, all soaring above 19,685 feet (6,000 meters).
During our exploration of this pristine natural environment, you will encounter the iconic alpacas and vicuñas native to the Chilean altiplano. We will also pause amidst the serene wilderness for a picnic lunch featuring sandwiches, dried fruits, chocolate, and refreshing juices.
Following our meal, the itinerary will lead us to the spectacular Cotacotani Lagoons before venturing into the attractive surroundings of the park. A visit to the village of Parinacota awaits, where we will explore a church recognized as a National Monument. Additionally, we will tour the archaeological sites of Chaku and Las Cuevas to delve into the rich history of this location.
Our final stop will be at the remarkable Jurasi Hot Springs. Please note that this segment of the tour may vary due to possible closures.
You will be returned to your hotel in Putre between 2 and 3 pm.
