Details of the Day Trip

The journey begins at 7:30 am with a pickup from your hotel in Douala, leading us westwards to Limbe, positioned along Cameroon’s volcanic shoreline.

After a two-hour drive, you will arrive in this coastal destination, enveloped by towering palm trees and rubber plantations. Upon arrival, take a moment to observe the preserved huts of laborers and descendants of former slaves who once inhabited this area.

To delve into the history of the city, our next stop is the Bimbia Slave Trade Site, a significant monument that honors the slave tribes of Cameroon who resided here. Continuing our exploration, we’ll visit the botanical garden, established by German settlers and boasting over 1500 species of plants and trees. This remarkable garden ranks among the world’s top three botanical gardens.

We will also witness the remnants of Mount Cameroon’s last eruption. As we meander through the rich vegetation of the region, you will be captivated by the extensive and intricate volcanic lava flow resulting from the 1999 eruption.

If you find yourself hungry, we’ll pause at a local restaurant to indulge in a delightful lunch. Finally, we’ll head to the beaches of Limbe, providing an opportunity for a refreshing swim before we make our way back to Douala.

The excursion will conclude at your hotel around 3:30 pm.
