Day Trip to Lipica & Skocjan Caves

We will collect you from your accommodation in Opatija at 9 am. Departing from Croatia, we will venture into Slovenia to visit Lipica and see the renowned Lipizzan horses.

Our journey commences with a visit to a local farm where you will discover insights into this iconic horse breed and understand their significance to Slovenian culture. You may be surprised to learn that they feature on one of the national coins. We'll explain how these horses are cared for each day, and you’ll have the opportunity to get close and, if you wish, to touch them.

Next, we will proceed to the Lipikum Museum. This location provides an excellent overview of the art of dressage. On certain days, there may even be a chance to witness a live performance showcasing Lipizzan horses.

After exploring Lipica, we will make our way to the Skocjan Caves, an extraordinary network of grottos along the Reka River. We will navigate through this remarkable cave system, taking in the stunning stalactites and stalagmites, the roaring water rapids, and the picturesque Skocjan lakes. We will also visit the world's largest underground canyon, a breathtaking feature not to be missed.

Finally, we will return to Opatija, where you will be dropped off at your hotel by around 2 pm.
