Details of the 3-Day Safari
Day 1: Nairobi – Maasai Mara
On this day, you will be picked up from your hotel in Nairobi or a specified meeting point at the scheduled time. Once assembled, we will embark on an approximately 4.5-hour journey to the Maasai Mara, renowned for its diverse wildlife.
The route will lead us through the stunning terrain of the Great Rift Valley. Expect to spot lions, elephants, and cheetahs along the way! We’ll pause at a viewpoint for remarkable photo opportunities for about 10 to 15 minutes before continuing on to our camp. Upon arrival, we will settle in and enjoy a well-deserved lunch.
As twilight approaches, we'll venture out for a sunset game drive within the Mara Reserve. This exhilarating 2-hour drive will provide unique chances to observe wildlife, after which we will return to camp for a delicious buffet dinner.
Day 2: Maasai Mara
Rise and shine in the Maasai Mara! We will start the day with a hearty breakfast followed by a full-day safari adventure.
During our exploration of the vast reserve, our focus will be on encountering the iconic “Big Five.” As we traverse the expansive landscapes, we will keep an eye out for lions, leopards, rhinoceroses, elephants, and African buffalo. Furthermore, we will delve into the fascinating migrations of the local wildlife.
We will take a break for a picnic lunch around noon, before resuming our exploration. After lunch, we’ll head to the site known for the annual wildebeest migration, where we can spot crocodiles and hippos lounging along the Mara River. It's impressive to note that over 1.5 million animals migrate regularly from the Serengeti to the Mara in search of lush pastures and water.
As the sun sets, we will head back to the camp for dinner, after which the evening is free for you to relax and prepare for the final day of discoveries.
Day 3: Maasai Mara – Nairobi
After breakfast, we’ll bid farewell to the Maasai camp and begin our return to Nairobi, taking with us cherished memories of this remarkable experience.
En route back to the capital, we’ll stop for lunch before arriving at your hotel in the afternoon.
Pickup Information
This safari includes pickup from hotels located in the downtown area of Nairobi. For those outside this district, a central meeting will take place at the City Market. If you prefer pickup from another location or the airport, an additional fee will apply.
Accommodation
Your safari experience encompasses 2 nights of accommodation, including meals at the Rhino Tourist Camp or a similar establishment.
Hot Air Balloon Experience
Enhance your adventure with an unforgettable hot air balloon flight over the Maasai Mara. This hour-long excursion occurs at sunrise on the second day, culminating in a champagne toast.
Visit to a Maasai Village
For an upgraded experience, consider an additional visit to a traditional Maasai Village on the return trip to Nairobi. Here, you can explore the rich cultural heritage of the Maasai and engage with locals about their everyday lives.

Important information
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Nairobi. Please be ready to go a few minutes in advance.
This activity includes pickup from hotels within the downtown district of Nairobi. If you're staying outside this area, we'll meet at the central City Market, located at Muindi Mbingu St, Starehe, Kenya. You can check the exact location via this Google Maps link. If you'd like to be picked up from another area, or from the airport, you'll have to pay an extra fee of 20USD.
Please be sure to arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled pickup time.
Additional Info
Please remember that if you wish, you can take part in the following extra activities for an extra cost during the trip:
- Day 2: You can take part in a Balloon Safari early in the morning before the normal day 2 itinerary (420USD per person)
- Day 3: You can visit a Maasai Village (20USD per person)
Additionally, please remember to bring insect repellant and sunscreen.
Fees Not Included
Please remember that the admission fees for the Maasai Mara National Reserve are not included in the price of the tour, and you'll need to pay them upon entering the park.
Accommodation
Please also note the following useful information about the accommodation:
- Electricity is available from 6 pm to 10 pm each night and between 6 am and 8 am in the morning.
- The accommodations are in budgeted tented camps, with big tents that have a shower, a bed, mosquito nets and linen. There is also hot water.
