Your adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel in Oaxaca, followed by a scenic 45-minute drive to Santa Catarina Minas. Upon arrival, the mezcal discovery tour will commence.

This charming town is celebrated for its rich mezcal heritage. To immerse ourselves in this tradition, we will meet a local mezcal artisan. Here, we will gain insight into the traditional methods of agave milling, fermentation in heaps, and distillation using clay pots.

Next, a visit to an artisanal mezcal distillery awaits, where we will observe the agave cultivation and organic production techniques. This site is also home to livestock, such as cows and goats, which contribute natural fertilizer for the crops!

The tour culminates in a mezcal tasting session, featuring an array of 10 distinct varieties. Raise your glass! On our return journey, we will pause at a restaurant situated in the Ocotlán Valley, providing you with an opportunity to enjoy a meal if you wish.

Finally, we will transport you back to your hotel in Oaxaca, concluding the day’s experience approximately 7 hours after we began.
