Activity Overview

Your adventure will begin with a convenient pickup from your Kandy hotel, followed by a scenic 2.5-hour minibus ride to one of Sri Lanka's most stunning natural reserves: Minneriya National Park.

Upon arrival at the park entrance, you'll board a jeep, embarking on a spectacular photographic safari through the park's wetlands. This vital ecological area boasts an impressive array of wildlife, including crocodiles, monkeys, and the elusive slow loris.

During the journey, we'll stop for a picnic before continuing our safari to observe the renowned Minneriya elephants. Did you know these magnificent creatures can weigh up to five tonnes? They are often seen in small groups scattered throughout the park.

The elephants are just one of the many fascinating aspects of this natural environment. Throughout the safari, we'll also keep an eye out for various species of Asian birds. Expect to catch sight of striking pelicans, herons, and ibises as they mingle around the park's lakes and waterholes alongside the gentle Ceylon buffaloes. Despite their formidable appearance, these animals are known for their calm demeanor.

As our safari at Minneriya concludes, we'll head back to the minibus and make our way back to your hotel in Kandy, completing the adventure in approximately 8.5 hours.
