Embark on a hiking journey to reach the tallest peak in Tarragona! Our adventure commences in Tortosa, as we set out to ascend Caro Mountain, soaring to a height of 1,442 meters (4,731 feet)!

Tour Overview

For those in Tortosa eager to explore the mountains, this excursion is an ideal choice. We will gather at the Port Restaurant parking area at the designated time, ready to embark on our trek up Mont Caro. Are you prepared to reach the peak? Let's begin!

As soon as we are assembled, we will commence our 8.5 km (5.3 mi) journey towards the summit of Tarragona, positioned at 1,442 meters (4,731 feet) above sea level! Our path takes us through vibrant pine forests leading to the Cuello de Pallers.

Continuing along the ridge, we will marvel at the breathtaking vistas of Mont Caro, characterized by its rugged slopes and sparse flora. You will also have the opportunity to observe the Ebro Valley, along with Montsianell, Mola Catí, Regatxol Ravine, and various neighboring villages.

Upon arrival at the summit, we will be greeted by the impressive Cinta sculpture and enjoy expansive views of the Tarragona region. Congratulations, you will have successfully summited Caro Mountain! After a short break, we will begin our descent back to our starting location.

After dedicating four to five hours to this invigorating trek, we will conclude our adventure.

On the day of the activity, we'll meet at the parking lot of the Port Restaurant, located at the following address: Partida los Puertos, 18, 43527 Tortosa, Tarragona. Please arrive at the meeting point at least 15 minutes before the start of the activity.
