Mount Pico Night Climb
Description
Immerse yourself in nature, breathe in the fresh air, and witness stunning landscapes at sunrise. Experience an extraordinary adventure as you ascend the tallest peak in Portugal with the Mount Pico Night Climb.
Activity Overview
The journey begins at the Casa da Montanha visitor center, our meeting point for the night climb of Mount Pico. Prepare yourself for the thrill of hiking up a volcano under the night sky!
On arrival, our guide will provide essential instructions and distribute the necessary climbing gear. We will embark on our ascent at a comfortable pace for everyone involved.
As we navigate the path illuminated by the moon and stars, keep an eye out for the first light of dawn. The sight of the sun rising over the ocean from Mount Pico is truly unforgettable.
Our trek will take us to the peak, with multiple stops to relish the magnificent natural vistas from an elevation exceeding 2300 meters. Did you know that Mount Pico holds the title of the highest point in Portugal?
Upon reaching the summit, you will be rewarded with panoramic views of the Azores archipelago bathed in sunlight. Remember to bring your camera to capture this moment!
The night trek of Mount Pico concludes as we return to our starting point after approximately 7 to 9 hours of adventure.
