Activity Overview
Join us at 2 am at the Casa da Montanha visitor center, which marks the beginning of our night ascent of Mount Pico. Are you prepared to navigate a volcano shrouded in darkness?
After gathering the group, our guide will provide essential safety instructions and distribute the necessary climbing gear. We will commence the climb at a comfortable pace for everyone involved.
As we progress under the subtle illumination of the moon and stars, you'll be greeted by the sight of the sunrise illuminating the landscape. The view of dawn breaking over the ocean from Mount Pico will be an unforgettable moment.
Our journey to the summit will involve several pauses to marvel at the remarkable natural scenery from an elevation exceeding 2300 meters. Did you know that Mount Pico stands as the tallest point in Portugal?
Upon reaching the summit, bask in the expansive views of the Azores archipelago bathed in sunlight. Remember to bring your camera to capture this breathtaking experience!
The adventure concludes as we return to the starting point by 12 noon.
Essential Information
Participants need to be in excellent physical condition to join this activity. It is not suitable for children under 13 or individuals over 65 years old. Additionally, due to the high altitudes we will encounter, it is crucial to have not engaged in any diving activities within 24 hours prior to this hike.

Important information
On the day of the activity, we will meet at Casa da Montanha (Caminho Florestal nº 9 Candelária, 9950-000 Madalena, Portugal). We recommend to be at the meeting point 10 to 15 minutes before the activity starts.

- Since this is an activity that requires some physical activity, it is essential to wear footwear suitable for mountain hiking, running shoes are not valid.

To participate in this activity, you must be in very good physical condition. The route is not recommended for children under 13, nor for people over 65. In addition, due to the altitudes we'll reach, it's imperative that you have not participated in any diving activities 24 hours prior to this hike.
