Blue Eye National Park and Lekuresi Castle Excursion

Our journey commences at Skënderbeu 67 at 9 am, where we will board a bus to journey to the Blue Eye lagoon in Albania. This remarkable destination has been designated as a protected Natural Monument due to its breathtaking scenery.

Upon arrival, we will delve into this enchanting area, offering you views of the Mali i Gjërë Mountain and the remarkable freshwater spring. The striking Blue Eye spring is the largest and most captivating among the 18 freshwater springs in the Mali i Gjere region. It earned its name from its resemblance to a large blue eye, showcasing stunning hues of dark and light blue. The spring reaches an impressive depth of 50 meters (164 feet) and is encircled by lush greenery.

Afterward, we will proceed to explore the remnants of Lekuresi Castle, thought to have origins dating back to 1537 when Sultan Sulejmani, commonly referred to as Suleiman the Magnificent, orchestrated an attack on Corfu during his reign as the tenth and longest-standing Sultan of the Ottoman Empire. Nestled atop a hill within the ruins of Lekuresi village, the castle grants breathtaking panoramic views over the bay of Saranda. From this vantage point, you can also spot the route to Butrint, alongside the Ksamil islands and Corfu Island.
