Our adventure commences at the appointed time in front of the majestic Ponferrada Castle, a remarkable fortification crafted by the Knights Templar, renowned for its impressive preservation. This striking medieval stronghold sets the stage for our exploration of the city's historical core.

We will begin by wandering down Gil y Carrasco Street, an essential artery of the old town, leading us to Plaza de la Encina, where the city’s patron saint is honored, alongside the stunning Basilica of Nuestra Señora de la Encina. During our journey, we will uncover the significant role Ponferrada has held on the Camino de Santiago, serving as a welcoming point for pilgrims since the 11th century.

The itinerary continues through the picturesque medieval lanes, where we’ll take in historic manor houses, traditional architecture, and notable sites such as the former Royal Stables and the Radio Museum, which is situated within the elegant García de las Llanas Manor House.
