Guided Tour of the Olive Oil Mill

The journey begins at the reception area of the Almazara San Francisco in Begíjar. Our first step will be a brief introduction to the olive oil industry, where we'll delve into the region's environmental and social backdrop while discovering the various types of olives and oils that exist.

Next, we will embark on a tour of the historic olive mill, which has been dedicated to producing premium virgin olive oils since 1927. Here, you'll observe the vintage machinery once employed in the process and gain insights into its operation and the rich history of this olive oil establishment.

After exploring the past, we will transition to the modern-day with a visit to the current San Francisco factory, where you’ll witness the contemporary methods of olive oil production and the diversity of oils being created.

The experience will culminate in a delightful guided tasting of three varieties of extra virgin olive oil. You’ll learn to appreciate the distinct characteristics of each type, savoring their unique flavors. After an engaging 1.5 hours, the tour will come to an end.

Comprehensive Olive Oil Mill & Olive Grove Tour

For a more enriching experience, consider the added option of visiting an olive grove. This portion of the tour takes you through the countryside to explore the scenery and walk amidst both ancient and young olive trees, where you will discover the care these trees receive and the systems used for irrigation.

Upon finishing the grove visit, we will proceed to the previously mentioned oil mill. The full tour will last approximately 3 hours.
