Description

With this admission to the Palace of Monterrey featuring an audio guide, you will explore the various chambers of this magnificent edifice, recognized as a prime example of Plateresque architecture.

Reasons to Explore Monterrey Palace

Securing this admission allows you to uncover one of the finest representations of civil architecture from the Spanish Renaissance, along with a significant illustration of the Plateresque style.

This remarkable palace was commissioned by Don Alonso de Acevedo y Zúñiga, Third Count of Monterrey, a noble from a distinguished Galician lineage, whose wealth is intricately linked to the city of Salamanca.

As you stroll through its various rooms, you'll notice an array of architectural influences, including Neoplateresque. Notably, it boasts a unique design style referred to as the Monterrey style, which has inspired notable structures such as the Cavalry Academy in Valladolid, the Archaeological Museum of Seville, and the Provincial Palace of Palencia.

When purchasing your admission, you have the option to solely visit the palace or enhance your experience by including access to the kitchens and cells. This option provides insight into the historical lives of the palace staff.
