Palace of Versailles Tour
Description
Immerse yourself in the opulent beauty of the renowned Palace of Versailles as you explore its rich history through this insightful guided tour.
Palace of Versailles Experience
Our meeting point is set in front of the equestrian statue of Louis XIV, conveniently located at Place d'Armes.
Prepare for a 1.5-hour guided exploration of the Palace of Versailles, where you will uncover the hidden treasures of this masterpiece of classical French Baroque architecture, which earned its UNESCO World Heritage designation in 1979. Our journey begins in the Royal Apartments, lavishly adorned to reflect the exquisite tastes of Louis XIV. With vibrant tapestries, fine art, colorful draperies, and elegant decor, the ambiance will surely leave you spellbound.
Next, we will proceed to the magnificent Hall of Mirrors. This striking gallery stands out as one of the signature spaces of the Palace of Versailles, defined by its elaborate chandeliers, sculptures, and the remarkable frescoes created by Charles Le Brun, alongside its famed mirrors. Your guide will share captivating stories about the Treaty of Versailles, memorialized here when it was signed in 1919, marking the conclusion of the First World War.
Upon completing the 1.5-hour guided segment, you will receive tickets that grant you access to explore further the royal residences: the Grand Trianon and the Petit Trianon. The latter is known as the private estate of Marie Antoinette, complete with the charming model village she created, referred to as the Queen's Hamlet. Feel free to stroll through the magnificent gardens of the Palace of Versailles and marvel at their intricate fountains at your own pace.
