Big Ice: The Ultimate Hike on Perito Moreno
At the designated meeting time, a vehicle will collect you from your accommodation in El Calafate, and we'll begin our westward journey along National Route 11. After approximately one hour, we will reach the Bajo las Sombras port. From this point, we will embark on a boat ride across Los Glaciares National Park.
During the 20-minute sail through the southern region of Lake Argentino, particularly around Brazo Rico, we will dock on the opposite shore. Here, we will equip ourselves with crampons and commence our thrilling 4-hour Big Ice hike. This trek will take us along the south face of the Perito Moreno Glacier, revealing stunning blue lagoons, deep crevasses, and vast sinkholes.
Throughout the hike, we will pause at various stages, allowing you to take in the views of the Dos Picos, Pietrobelli, and Cervantes ranges at a relaxed pace. You will also enjoy 30 minutes of free time to unwind on the sparkling snow—be sure to bring your packed lunch!
Following our lunch break, we'll embark on another one-hour hike leading us to the shores of Lake Argentino. Upon arrival, we'll navigate between the two glaciers as we sail just over 4 miles (7 km) to the footbridges of the Perito Moreno.
Having experienced Argentina's most renowned glacier, we'll then make our way back to Bajo Las Sombras port, culminating with your return to the hotel in El Calafate. The total duration of this adventure is approximately 12 hours.

This excursion includes pickup from accommodations located in the center of El Calafate. Alternatively, we can arrange pickup from number 31, 7 de Diciembre Street.

Important information
We'll pick you up from your hotel in El Calafate, specified when making your booking, at the scheduled time. Please be ready a few minutes early.
If you'd prefer, we can also pick you up from the following location in El Calafate: Ryan's Travel office, located at number 31, 7 de Diciembre Street (Local 3, a few metres from the Banco de la Nación Argentina). Please be punctual.

Important
- You must bring your ID card or passport, warm clothes and mineral water.
- To fully enjoy this activity, you must be in good physical condition, as the trekking route is highly difficult.
- Sending in a photo of your passport is mandatory for the reservation to be confirmed.
Tickets Not Included
You can buy the entrance ticket to Los Glaciares National Park in this link or you can buy it the same day of the tour at the ticket office. In this case, you will have to pay the entrance fee in cash in Argentine pesos.
If you visit the National Park on a second day you can buy the pass with 50% discount for the second day.
