Pico Island Day Trip
At the designated time, our team will collect you from your accommodation in Horta, after which we will embark on a boat journey to Pico Island. Our path will take us through expansive vineyards, noted for their designation as a World Heritage Site, and we will visit some of the most picturesque villages on the island.
Upon arrival, our first destination will be the charming village of São Mateus, home to one of the island’s oldest parishes. Here, you will also have the chance to visit a craft workshop!
Next, we will continue to Lajes do Pico, which is recognized as the first settlement on the island. Here, we will stop by the Museum of Whalers to gain insight into the vital role of fishing in this region. Please note, if our visit falls on a Monday, the museum will be closed, allowing us to dedicate more time to the other locations.
Feeling hungry? We will enjoy a buffet lunch at a local eatery before proceeding to our next site, the village of São Roque. On route, we will pause at Lagoa do Capitão, one of Pico’s largest and most renowned lagoons, where the views are truly breathtaking!
After capturing stunning photos, we will head to Vila de São Roque and visit the lovely parish of Bandeiras. To conclude our tour, we will make our way to Arcos do Cachorro to take in the remarkable scenery of these sea caves.
Ultimately, after 7-8 hours of adventure and discovery on Pico Island, we will return you to your hotel in Horta.

On the day of the activity, the local provider will pick you up from your hotel in Horta. Please be ready at your hotel reception 10-15 minutes before the pickup time.
Pickup Time
Pickup times are flexible. Before the start of the activity, the provider will get in touch to inform you of the exact time. Normally, pickup starts from 10:15 am.

- The visit to Monte da Guia is offered to groups of up to 6 people.
