Portage Glacier + Wildlife Conservation Center
Description
Embark on a boat journey through Portage Glacier and explore the wildlife of Alaska with a visit to the local Wildlife Conservation Center. Additionally, we will also take a tour of Anchorage!
Description
At the designated time, our team will meet you at your accommodation in Anchorage and begin our expedition to one of Alaska's most stunning locations.
We will first traverse the remarkable Seward Highway, renowned for its winding path. Throughout the drive, you will be captivated by the breathtaking views of Cook Bay coupled with the majestic peaks of Chugach State Park.
Your initial stop will be the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, where you can observe bears, bald eagles, moose, caribou, wolves, and more. Interesting fact: many of the creatures here have been rescued and rehabilitated!
After exploring the Conservation Center, we will proceed to Portage Glacier Lake for a 1-hour boat cruise. During the summer season, you might witness massive icebergs calving off the glacier into the lake, a striking effect of climate change.
Finally, we will return you to your hotel, wrapping up this extensive 5-hour experience.
