Day Excursion to Cantona & Alchichica Lagoon

Your adventure begins with a 9 am pickup from your hotel in Cholula, followed by approximately two hours of travel to our first stop, the Cantona archaeological site.

Upon arrival, you will explore the remains of a once-thriving fortified settlement, wandering through its winding streets, plazas, numerous structures, and various ball game courts. Allow your imagination to transport you back to the era of this pre-Columbian civilization. Notably, Cantona housed over 300 obsidian workshops, where skilled artisans crafted a variety of goods and managed trade routes throughout the central highlands.

After concluding the visit to the Cantona ruins, we will proceed to Tepeyahualco at 1 pm, giving you time to enjoy lunch. Following this break, we will venture towards one of Mexico's significant alkaline lakes.

In just thirty minutes, we'll arrive at the stunning Alchichica Lagoon, renowned for its captivating waters and unique natural formations known as stromatolites. Here, you will learn about its volcanic origins and the intriguing local legends that surround this remarkable site.

To wrap up the day, we will return to Cholula, aiming to reach your hotel by 5 pm.
