We kick off our excursion at the stunning Guri Emir Mausoleum, a quintessential example of Islamic architecture. This remarkable site serves as the resting place of the legendary conqueror Tamerlane, also known as Timur, marking its significance in the city.
As we delve into the past of this influential and divisive leader, our next destination is the spectacular Registan Square, the epicenter of Samarkand’s historical narrative. With a heritage that stretches back over 2,700 years, you will be captivated by the three majestic madrasas—Ulughbek, Sherdor, and Tilla Kori—each showcasing exquisite mosaics and deep-rooted stories.
