Rafting at Cañón de Almadenes

We will gather at the designated Parking Rafting - Cañón y Cañón at the scheduled time. Following this, we’ll head to the launch site for the activity.

Are you excited for the adventure? If you are new to rafting, there’s no need to worry! We will start with a brief introduction that covers how to handle the paddles. Once you grasp the basics, we’ll provide you with a life vest and helmet before stepping into the rafts.

Our journey begins with a smooth level 1 rafting section as we glide along the most breathtaking part of the Segura River, particularly through the magnificent Cañón de Almadenes. This area is recognized as a Protected Natural Area. While navigating, we will share intriguing facts about the local biodiversity and the surrounding riparian forest.

Throughout the excursion, we will take multiple breaks to disembark and uncover hidden gems within the region, including Abrigos del Pozo, a significant historical site. Here, you will find the Cave of Monigotes, honored as a World Heritage Site for its prehistoric art, where we’ll participate in a cave art workshop.

Additionally, we’ll visit the Cueva de las Nutrias, a charming cave famous for its playful otters. After this, we’ll board our rafts once more and paddle through the areas known as Paraje de la Maestra and the Alfonso XII Reservoir, culminating our 3-hour adventure at the La Mulata Dam.
