Activity Details

Meeting at the designated time, we’ll gather at La Victoria Park, situated in the vibrant center of Moca. From this point, we will stroll towards the town’s most significant religious site, the Sagrado Corazón de Jesús Church.

This church, which opened its doors in the mid-20th century, was constructed on the site of a former parish, thanks to generous contributions from local parishioners in the Espaillat province. It is noteworthy that this church is recognized as a Monumental Heritage of the Dominican Republic.

Our exploration will highlight its striking 110 m (361 ft) tower, and we will step inside the temple to appreciate the exquisite sculptures, vibrant stained-glass windows, and the majestic organ. We will share fascinating details about this religious site, celebrated as one of the most beautiful churches in the nation.

Following our visit to Sagrado Corazón de Jesús Church, we will board a minibus for a scenic drive to the southern part of Moca. There, we will alight at a local restaurant where we can savor the local specialty, mofongo, a traditional dish crafted from plantains. Its delicious flavor is sure to impress!

After a fulfilling 3 hours of exploration, we will return to our initial meeting point.
