Excursion to Salinas del Gualicho
At the designated time, we will collect you from Las Grutas to embark on our journey to Salinas del Gualicho, recognized as the second largest depression in Argentina.
Upon arrival at these captivating salt flats, you will quickly be impressed by their vastness. Positioned 236 feet below sea level, this expansive area of salt encompasses 166 square miles—roughly double the size of Buenos Aires! As we navigate through this immense landscape, you will discover some of the 8000 applications that utilize salt.
Our adventure will continue with a visit to the industrial zone, where the salt crystals are extracted and packaged. You will also observe the impressive salt mountains, which can hold up to 450,000 tons. Following these explorations, prepare to be captivated by a breathtaking sunset over Salinas del Gualicho, an unforgettable moment!
While enjoying the sunset, a delicious outdoor Creole dinner will be served. The meal features chicken with vegetables, bread, wine, mineral water, coffee, and dessert. Once night falls, we will seize the opportunity to admire the stars using telescopes and various astronomical tools.
Eventually, we will return to Las Grutas, arriving at the initial meeting point between 10 PM and midnight, depending on the season.
