Tour Details

At the scheduled time, our team will meet you at Hubert-Sattler-Gasse 1 and we will depart from Salzburg towards the Berchtesgaden salt mines.

As we journey to the mines, we will pass by the scenic Königseeache river and the historic Obersalzberg, a notable location associated with the leaders of the Third Reich. Upon arriving at the mine, you will don miner's attire to embark on an exploration of this remarkable underground realm.

Walking along the corridors that used to be bustling with miners, we will reveal how the extraction of this valuable mineral was performed, share insights into the daily life of the miners, and discuss the hazards they encountered routinely. A highlight of the tour will be the chance to slide down the mining slides, adding a fun twist to your visit.

To complete the experience, we will hop onto a wooden raft for a serene ride on a salt lake. Once again, we will traverse the stunning subway labyrinths aboard the mining train before returning to the surface.

On our way back to Salzburg, we will take a brief stop in the charming village of Berchtesgaden, before returning you to the original meeting point, concluding our adventure after around 4 hours.
