Activity Overview
Meet us at the designated hour on Cánovas del Castillo street in the port of Vigo. We will welcome you aboard the ferry as we head towards the island of San Simón.
During the hour-long ride, take in the breathtaking scenery of the Ría de Vigo and pass beneath the Rande bridge. Upon arrival, you will embark on a guided tour of the island led by an expert guide.
Explore notable sites such as the Casa del Guardia, the former Lazaretto, and the San Pedro chapel. Additionally, the island offers a stunning view of Cesantes Beach.
A visit to the island's interpretation centre allows you to uncover the rich history of San Simón. Did you know it was left abandoned for three decades? Over the years, this land has served various purposes, including a jail, a hospital, and a monks' residence.
At around 7 pm, we’ll return to the quay to reboard the ferry back to Vigo.
Essential Information
The guided tour of San Simón Island is available in Spanish, English, or Galician. Please note that, due to regulations, visits to the island are only permitted with a guide.

Important information
Head to the ticket office of the Mar de Ons shipping company at Calle Cánovas del Castillo, 3. 36201 Vigo. You'll be told where to board the ferry. We recommend arriving at least 30 minutes before the indicated time.
