Description
Embark on a day trip from Reykjavík to discover the stunning south coast of Iceland. This journey includes visits to amazing sites like Sólheimajökull, Skógafoss, Seljalandsfoss waterfall, and Vik.
Day Trip Overview
At the appointed time, we’ll collect you from the specified meeting point in Reykjavík and commence our adventure along one of the most scenic routes on the island. Are you prepared for the experience?
- Seljalandsfoss
- Gljúfrabúi
- Skógafoss
- Sólheimajökull
- Reynisfjara
- Vík
Our first destination is the remarkable Seljalandsfoss waterfall, renowned for its pathway that allows visitors to walk behind the cascading water and witness a breathtaking view. Close by, conditions permitting, we’ll uncover the hidden waterfall of Gljúfrabúi, nestled in a crevice of rock, often overlooked by many.
We will then proceed to the majestic Skógafoss, one of the most significant waterfalls in Iceland, which boasts a striking 60 m (196 ft) drop that frequently creates rainbows on clear days. After taking in its formidable beauty, we’ll make our way to Sólheimajökull glacier, where we’ll get an up-close look at its ice formations and the volcanic ash embedded in the ice.
Next, we’ll head to the stunning black-sand beach of Reynisfjara, known for its dramatic Atlantic waves crashing against the unique basalt columns and the notable rock formations emerging from the ocean.
Our journey concludes in the picturesque village of Vík, where we’ll ascend to its famous church for breathtaking panoramic views of the coastline before making our return. At the end of this enriching 10-hour tour, we will bid you farewell at the starting location.
