Activity Overview
At the designated time, we will convene close to Sugarloaf Mountain in Rio de Janeiro. Our adventure begins with a 90-minute trek along the Costão trail.
Our journey up Sugarloaf will commence on a rugged natural route, leading us to an exhilarating highlight: a 15-meter rope ascent on the rock wall. As we climb, you will be captivated by the stunning vistas of Guanabara Bay and the picturesque coastline of Niterói.
Before reaching the pinnacle, we will take a moment at the Pedra Filosofal viewpoint, where the striking landscape of Rio’s southern region unfolds before you. With keen observation, you may catch a glimpse of the Christ the Redeemer statue in the distance.
The return will be more straightforward! Depending on availability, we will either ride the complimentary cable car to Morro da Urca or descend through an alternative climbing path. Following that, we will take a brief 30-minute walk along a serene trail to reach the base of Sugarloaf Mountain.
After approximately 4 hours of exploration, our excursion up Sugarloaf Mountain will conclude at the original meeting point.
Important Information
- This experience is not suitable for pregnant individuals, those with back, neck, or heart conditions, serious medical issues, or a fear of heights.
- For participants in the morning session, the return to Morro da Urca will always be via cable car.
- Afternoon session participants may return by cable car or climbing route, subject to availability.

Important information
15 minutes before the scheduled time, we’ll meet in front of the Árabe Urca restaurant, located at Av. Pasteur, 493 - Urca, Rio de Janeiro - RJ, 22290-240, Brazil.
We recommend bringing trekking shoes, a backpack, light clothing, a raincoat, water, food, a bathing suit, towel, sunglasses, insect repellent, sunscreen, a trash bag, and a camera.
24 hours before the start of the tour, you will receive a WhatsApp or e-mail, confirming the finalized tour details (name of the guide, telephone number, exact meeting point, what to bring, start time, etc.).

- If you participate in the morning session, the descent to Morro da Urca is always by cable car.
- If you participate in the afternoon session, the descent will be by cable car or via the climbing route, depending on availability.
