Talampaya & Ischigualasto Natural Parks Trip
Description
Embark on a memorable adventure through the stunning Talampaya and Ischigualasto parks, two exceptional natural sites in northern Argentina, celebrated for their ancient petroglyphs and unique lunar-like landscapes.
Description
Our expedition will begin with a pickup from your Villa Union accommodation at the appointed hour, setting our course southwards into one of La Rioja province's most extraordinary natural settings.
After approximately an hour's drive, we will reach Talampaya National Park. This protected zone is accessible only with a park guide due to its delicate environment, and you will have the chance to choose from a selection of guided tours offered in this breathtaking area.
During the engaging Talampaya tours held in robust off-roading vehicles, you will be enchanted by the park's striking red sandstone canyons. From the comfort of your transport, you'll also observe intriguing petroglyphs alongside remarkable rock formations that resemble a monk and a cathedral. Upon completing your exploration of Talampaya, there will be a chance to enjoy the packed meal you've brought.
Next, our journey will continue southwards to Ischigualasto Provincial Park, commonly known as the "Valley of the Moon." Within this park, you'll discover rock formations that closely mimic a mushroom as well as a submarine. Our route will guide us to the bocce field, home to enormous stone spheres, with their fascinating origins revealed along the way.
After taking in the captivating views of Ischigualasto, we will head back to your Villa Union hotel. Expect to return approximately 12 hours after our initial departure.
