3-Day Tour in Puerto Maldonado

Day 1: Arrival, Walk, and Boat Journey

Your journey begins upon arrival at either the airport or bus terminal in Puerto Maldonado, where a knowledgeable guide will greet you and escort you to your lodging situated within the breathtaking Tambopata National Park. After settling in and enjoying lunch, you will embark on a guided walk along the park's trails, providing opportunities to spot birds, turtles, monkeys, and a variety of other wildlife. As the sun sets, prepare for a scenic boat ride to witness an extraordinary sunset. The evening culminates with dinner before retiring for the night.

Day 2: Trek to Sandoval Lake

Your day will start leisurely with breakfast served until 9:30 am, after which you'll set off on a trekking adventure to the picturesque Sandoval Lake. Over a distance of 3 kilometers, accompanied by your guide, you will wander through the rich Tambopata Amazon jungle, encountering fascinating species such as tarantulas, snakes, squirrels, otters, herons, and alligators. Following the trek, return to the cabins for lunch, and later in the evening, join a short nocturnal walk. After your evening meal, you can unwind and prepare for another day of exploration.

Day 3: Parrot and Macaw Clay Lick

Awaken early for breakfast before setting off at 4:15 am to witness the remarkable parrot and macaw clay lick. This event offers a prime opportunity for birdwatching as dozens of parrots gather at the clay wall for feeding at dawn. The day continues with a fishing expedition at Lake Anaconda. After this activity, return to your accommodations with a chance to spot some sloth bears before concluding your trip with a transfer back to the Puerto Maldonado airport or bus terminal.
