Tijuca National Park Hiking Experience

At the scheduled time, we will collect you from your hotel in Rio de Janeiro and set off towards Tijuca National Park.

Once we reach this vast urban forest, encompassing an impressive 15.44 square miles (40 square km), our thrilling adventure begins. This expedition includes a 5.6 mile (9 km) trek that meanders through the Tijuca Forest, following peaceful and serene pathways. The entire journey is expected to take approximately 6 hours.

During this physically engaging hike, we will traverse suspension bridges, hills, and summits. Along our route, we will explore the ruins of historic coffee plantations and witness various caves and cascading waterfalls that showcase remarkable natural beauty.

We will take several breaks for you to rest and enjoy some snacks you’ve brought along. Once we’ve re-energized, we will continue our ascent to Taquara Ridge, which reaches an impressive altitude of 2,670.6 feet (814 meters). Concluding our adventure, we will visit a refreshing natural waterfall nearby for a well-deserved swim.

Following our swim, we will retrace our steps back to the trailhead and return to your hotel in Rio de Janeiro, with an estimated total duration of 8 hours since pickup.
