2-Day Adventure in Kyzyl Kum Desert

Day 1: Journey from Bukhara to Nurata and Kyzyl Kum

Your adventure begins with a pickup from your accommodation in Bukhara at the scheduled time. From there, we'll take a minibus to commence our 2-day exploration of the Kyzyl Kum desert, whose name translates to "red sand" in Uzbek. Throughout the journey, we’ll uncover fascinating details about this remarkable region.

After approximately 4 hours on the road, we will arrive at our first destination: Nurata. This historic Uzbek city boasts a rich heritage, which we will explore by visiting the renowned Chashma complex, which dates back to the 4th century BC. Additional sites include the Juma Mosque, the ancient Panjvaqta Mosque, and the Nurata Arab Baths.

Our next experience awaits at a yurt camp nestled in the Kyzyl Kum desert, where a chance to bathe in Lake Aidar awaits. We will enjoy a hearty traditional dinner before indulging in a folklore performance that showcases the local desert culture. Following the evening's activities, we’ll retire to our yurts for a restful night.

Day 2: Kyzyl Kum to Samarkand and Return to Bukhara

After an authentic night resembling that of Central Asian nomads, we'll gather for breakfast while witnessing a breathtaking sunrise over the desert—a perfect moment to cherish your Kyzyl Kum experience.

Rejuvenated, we’ll set out towards Samarkand, where you will have the opportunity to enjoy lunch at your leisure. When booking the tour, you will indicate if you would like to conclude your journey in Samarkand or Bukhara. Should you choose Bukhara, we will ensure you arrive back at your hotel by 5 pm.

Accommodation

This itinerary includes a night’s stay in a yurt camp situated in the Kyzyl Kum desert. These spacious and comfortable tents accommodate up to 4 individuals, providing a memorable night under the stars with your companions.
