Kosovo Day Trip
Description
Embark on a journey to Kosovo and uncover the treasures of Pristina and Prizren during this enriching day trip, where ancient bazaars, historic mosques, and picturesque churches await discovery, crowned by the stunning Shadërvan marble fountain.
Day Trip Overview
We'll convene at Macedonia Street, number 1 in Skopje, at the scheduled time. Following our gathering, we will board the transport for a scenic 1.5-hour journey to our first city of exploration.
Upon arriving in Pristina, we'll engage in a 1-hour guided tour that takes us through the heart of Kosovo's capital. As we navigate its main thoroughfares, you'll encounter elegant Ottoman mosques and impressive structures that reflect the enduring spirit of Kosovo's populace.
The old bazaar beckons, allowing you to soak in the vibrant atmosphere reminiscent of medieval times, enriched by the enticing aromas of spices wafting through the market. We will also visit essential sites in Pristina, including the notable National Library of Kosovo, the nearby Cathedral Church of Christ the Saviour within the University of Pristina, and the culturally significant National Theater.
Next, our path will guide us to Prizren, with an estimated 1 hour and 15-minute drive. Once there, you'll understand why many consider this city the most picturesque in Kosovo. We will navigate its charming cobblestone streets lined with iconic houses boasting red roofs, each telling stories from its rich history dating back to the 11th century.
We will take a moment to admire the famed bridge over the Bistricë River. Our visit culminates in Shadërvan Square, a vibrant area brimming with cafés and restaurants where you can independently sample local delicacies.
As our day comes to a close, we'll make our way back to the meeting point in Skopje, wrapping up a memorable 10-hour excursion.
